Safety
Safety is a prime concern and we take it seriously.
Although FCS are not subject to the same regulations as full size aircraft, we apply the same principles of safe operation. This means we will not fly over persons who are not informed and aware of our presence. The responsibility for safety on location falls to the pilot, and it is therefore ultimately his decision as to whether the commission can be carried out within the safety guidelines.
The helicopters are rigorously checked before every flight to ensure everything is correctly installed, and where appropriate, flight critical components have backup systems in the event of failure. The petrol engine we use is a purpose-designed unit which is built for reliable operation. In the rare event of an engine failure, the same manoeuvre is employed as with full size helicopters, namely to auto rotate the helicopter down to a safe landing.
